The 17-year-old winger has enjoyed a phenomenal season, playing a decisive role in Hansi Flick’s successful first campaign and helping the club reclaim the La Liga title ahead of fierce rivals Real Madrid. Yamal's form has not only dazzled fans but also accelerated Barcelona’s efforts to shield him from Europe's top clubs with a lucrative, long-term agreement.
According to sources at FCBN, Yamal's new contract will surpass the earnings of Robert Lewandowski, who reportedly takes home €33 million annually. This deal would place Yamal among the highest earners in European football, a remarkable feat for a player still in his teens.
Negotiations appear to be in their final stages. Yamal and his agent Jorge Mendes, along with legal representatives, were seen leaving La Bonaigua restaurant in Barcelona earlier this week. Mendes confirmed to reporters, “Of course he is going to renew, there will be no problem. He is happy. He is going to renew soon, rest assured. Lamine is the best in the world and will be Ballon d’Or.”
With the summer transfer window approaching, locking in Yamal’s future has become an urgent priority for the Catalan giants. Despite ongoing financial constraints, Barcelona’s board has already renewed the contracts of head coach Hansi Flick and winger Raphinha, signaling a strong intent to stabilize and rebuild around a young core.
Yamal’s renewal is expected to be announced shortly after the club’s final league fixture against Athletic Club, capping a season that has reasserted Barcelona’s place at the summit of Spanish football.
