According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona and the Brazilian international are close to finalizing a contract extension that will keep him in Catalonia until 2029. Although final details such as his revised release clause are still being negotiated, a verbal agreement is said to be in place, highlighting both parties' intent to continue their fruitful partnership.
Raphinha, 28, confirmed his commitment to the Blaugrana project during a press conference ahead of Barcelona’s dramatic 4-3 El Clásico triumph over Real Madrid. The winger emphasized his desire to stay at the club and build on what has been a sensational campaign under new manager Hansi Flick.
In his second season at the club, Raphinha has delivered extraordinary numbers: 59 goal contributions in 54 matches across all competitions, including 34 goals and 25 assists. His 18 La Liga goals place him fourth in the scoring charts, while his nine assists rank him second. He also shares top spot in the Champions League scoring table with 13 goals, tied with Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy.
Barcelona’s El Clásico win has put them on the brink of reclaiming the La Liga title, with the team now seven points clear of Real Madrid and needing just three points from their final three matches. Raphinha is expected to play a key role as the Catalan side aims to officially secure the championship in the coming days.
This contract renewal comes as a major statement from both Raphinha and Barcelona, reaffirming the club’s ambition and the player’s belief in their long-term sporting vision, even as financial temptations loom elsewhere.
