Manchester United's challenging and uneven performances have continued under Amorim, who took charge at Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag left in October. However, the results have been clear but difficult to come by, with the Red Devils winning over Manchester City and Arsenal and drawing against Liverpool in the previous month.

Nonetheless, the football industry's brutality has left Amorim's position in jeopardy, with rumors circulating that INEOS and co-owner Sir Ratcliffe are dissatisfied with Amorim's performance at Manchester United. The former Sporting coach has disclosed that he had the opportunity to speak with Ratcliffe following the dramatic win over Southampton, which came down to Amad Diallo's late 12-minute hat-trick after Manuel Ugarte's own goal gave the Saints the lead in the first half. Amorim also claimed that the win over Southampton helped ease his conversations with the co-owner.

Speaking to the media, Amorim revealed: "I had five minutes with him [Ratcliffe] to discuss many topics. It wasn't a great game, but the outcome helped the discourse! We continue doing our job.

"Today, winning was more crucial. I understand that supporters want to see much better football, but we need to win games. We won, and now we'll prepare for the next game.

Despite the rumors, INEOS is unlikely to be concerned about the Portuguese coach and will most likely support him until the conclusion of the season before doing a post-season evaluation to determine Amorim's viability to continue as Manchester United's head coach.
